Guide for authors
Turn your Word document into an e-book
You wrote it in Word. Upload the .docx and get an e-book with a cover, contents and laid-out chapters, as a PDF ready to sell.
Preparing the file
- Use Word's "Heading 1" style for each chapter. That is how chapters are detected.
- Use "Heading 2" for sections inside a chapter.
- Bold, italics, lists and quotes are kept.
- Save as .docx (not .doc or .docm).
What happens to the file
The file is converted to text and screened: files with macros are rejected, hidden content is removed and external links and images are never fetched.
If you turn on the AI reading, it reads the text to suggest an art direction. The AI never writes or changes your text.
Why not export straight from Word to PDF
You can, but it looks like a document, not a book: no cover, no chapter openers, A4 margins. An A5 book with type designed for phone reading sells better.
Questions
What if I wrote it in Google Docs?
Download it as .docx (File → Download → Microsoft Word) and upload that.
Are images in the Word file kept?
The cover image is uploaded separately. Images inside the text are not yet carried over from .docx.
Can I edit after converting?
Yes. The text stays in the editor and you can change it as often as you like.
